Making Changes to the Exterior of Your Home
Ready to Refresh Your Home? Let’s Do It the Right Way!
Dreaming of a fresh coat of paint, a new fence, or a relaxing hot tub in your backyard? Maybe it’s time to revamp your landscaping or finally install that firepit you’ve been eyeing. We love seeing our community shine with beautiful improvements, but before you get started, don’t forget: you’ll need approval from the Architectural Review Committee (ARC).
Any exterior changes to your home or yard need written ARC approval first. It helps us keep track of what’s changing, ensures consistency, and protects the charm and value of our community. Think of it as a way to keep your investment strong while encouraging creativity within guidelines.
Landscaping
Whether you’re reimagining your front flower beds or adding a privacy fence, we’re here for it. We just need a few details. Submit a modification form along with:
- Full-view photos of the work area
- A sketch or plan of your landscape design
- A list of the number and types of plants
- A plat of your property if you’re adding structures like fences
- A completed modification form
No form needed if you’re just trimming, refreshing mulch, or adding seasonal flowers.
Removing a tree? Be sure to get a permit from the City of Kennesaw first!
Backyard Bliss! Let’s Make It Happen
Fences, Firepits, patios, playsets, trampolines hottubs, etc!
We’re all about backyard fun, but you’ll need:
- A photo of the item
- Full-view photos of the work area
- A drawing showing where it’ll go
- Your completed modification form with details
Painting the House
Awesome, let’s brighten up the block! Just let us know:
- The completed modification form with the colors you plan to use (siding, trim, garage, shutters).
- Full-view photos of your house (front & back) and the two neighboring houses.
- What your neighboring homes look like. We aim for variety, not a row of identical houses.
Updating Doors or Windows
Changing your front door color? Swapping out windows? These updates require approval, too. And good news: window grids (mullions) are now optional, as long as all windows match. Include:
- Full-view photos of your home and windows that are being replaced.
- Product images of the windows or doors you’re planning to install.
- Completed modification form.
- The work order from the vendor with details of the window replacements.
