2025 Board of Directors Call for Candiates
In 2025, two of the five seats on the HOA Board of Directors will be up for election. Do you have the qualities to be a great board member? If you possess a combination of the following skills and attributes, consider running for a position. We’d love to have you on board!
- Dedication: A passion for volunteer work is key, as board members do not receive compensation. Your contributions should stem from genuine care for the community.
- Respect: Being able to show respect to others and expect it in return is essential for maintaining productive, civil discussions during board meetings.
- Listening Skills: Residents and fellow board members want to feel heard. Can you listen with sincere interest, understanding that collective input benefits the community?
- Resilience: At times, you may face hostility or disagreement. Whether it’s from residents or fellow board members, disputes will arise. Are you able to stay calm, seek solutions, and make difficult decisions when necessary?
- Team Player: Being able to set aside personal ego and give others credit helps foster a collaborative and effective board environment.
- Adaptability: Times are constantly changing. An open mind and willingness to evolve with new technology and ideas will ensure the best outcomes for the community.
- Skills & Expertise: The HOA is a business, and board members with backgrounds in accounting, law, communications, design, construction, and team-building can bring invaluable skills to the table.
A strong board is diverse in management styles, professional backgrounds, and personalities. Members are expected to attend at least two meetings per month and participate in community activities and special sessions. While you don’t need to know everything right away, familiarity with the governing documents and responsibilities of the role is important.
Leaders come from all walks of life, and there is no single mold for success. If you or someone you know embodies these qualities, please consider nominating them for the board. Many people don’t consider running until they’re asked!
We encourage you to carefully consider volunteering for the Board next year. You may nominate yourself or someone else (with their permission) by emailing the Property Manager at propertymanager@legacypark.org.
What’s required? You’ll need to submit a biography, including a brief statement explaining your motivation for running and a summary of the qualifications that make you a great fit for the position.
A list of candidates, along with their bios and photos, will be featured in the December edition of the Town Herald. Below are key deadlines for candidate submissions to ensure timely inclusion in the newsletter. Election results will be announced at the February 2025 Annual Meeting.
Important Deadlines:
- Board nominations: Due to the HOA office by noon on November 1st.
